This is a project I am currently working on. When it is finished it will be a 1/10th scale Foden 6x6 with a steel flatbed. At 35in long, it is very big, and incredibly heavy.
I was given an Dewalt impact by a friend and decided to build this truck around it's motor. An impact driver is not the ideal power source for an RC for many reasons but I thought it would be an interesting thing to try. Other than the axles, which I bought, every part on the truck was designed and made by me or my printer. Even the cab, which I drew myself based on a few measurements and images from Google.
This truck is the culmination of all of my previous RC builds, combining extensive CAD, 3d printing, metal fab, off the shelf parts, and fully custom electrical and control systems.
I'm quite proud of it even in this unfinished state.
